Michael Weger was first elected MLA for Weyburn-Bengough in 2024 and currently serves as Minister of Community Safety and Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency. Weger has practiced law in Weyburn for over 15 years, the last several as sole owner of his law firm. He and his wife Cara received the Mila Mulroney Award from Cystic Fibrosis Canada in 2018 for their fundraising leadership, and he has served as a paid on-call firefighter, a longtime youth sports coach named Saskatchewan Hockey Association Volunteer of the Year (South) in 2021, and President of the Weyburn-Bengough Constituency Association. Weger and his wife live in Weyburn with their four children.
