Eric Schmalz

Eric Schmalz was first elected MLA for Saskatchewan Rivers in 2024 and currently serves as Minister of Government Relations, Minister of Immigration and Career Training, and Minister responsible for First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs and the Provincial Capital Commission. Schmalz served 13 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police before joining his family’s business and training as an auctioneer, and was elected Reeve of the RM of Prince Albert in a 2019 byelection and re-elected in 2020. Schmalz lives near Prince Albert with his wife and their two children.
