Doug Steele was first elected MLA for Cypress Hills in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 and 2024, and has served as Deputy Government Whip, Legislative Secretary to the Minister responsible for SaskPower and SaskEnergy, and Chair of the Private Bills Committee. Before entering politics he worked in the grain industry for 19 years and served on numerous boards and committees. Steele and his wife Phyllis own and operate a fourth-generation family farm and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
