David Marit

David Marit was first elected MLA for Wood River in 2016 and re-elected in 2020 and 2024. He currently serves as Minister of Agriculture, Minister responsible for Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and Minister responsible for the Water Security Agency, and has previously served as Minister of Highways and Infrastructure. Before becoming an MLA he served on RM council and on the SARM board as Director, Vice President and eventually President. Born and raised in the Wood River area, Marit and his wife Lois have one son and a late daughter, and are grandparents to two granddaughters and one grandson.
