And there was action to go with it: the government announced enhancements to the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program to help communities get back on their feet after disasters like flooding. Thank you to all the local leaders and residents helping to guide recovery efforts.

Saskatchewan’s strong, steady economy continues to create new jobs. There were 2,900 more people working in Saskatchewan in June compared to May — the second-best rate of job growth in Canada. Our youth unemployment rate is also the third lowest in the country, meaning more young people are finding their future right here at home.

Leading the Country in Manufacturing Growth
The good economic news kept coming this week: Saskatchewan led the country in manufacturing sales growth last month, up 9.6% — another win for our provincial economy and for Saskatchewan workers.
